JULY 2008 CONSTRUCTION UPDATE

Resurfacing of disturbed areas due to duct bank trenching along Barnum Avenue and Main Street (Bpt.) will occur throughout the Project over the next few months. At times, access to side streets and driveways may be limited. Motorists should be alert to areas of grooved pavement, raised manholes and storm grates.

THERE WILL NOT BE ANY ROAD WORK ON FRIDAY, JULY 4th.

STRATFORD

Construction:

• Rte 1 in Stratford to the Dock Shopping Center Entrance – Mill & Overlay restoration with some full lane mill and paving in isolated areas.
• Preparations for final street and private area restoration are underway.
• Street restoration (Barnum Avenue) will continue throughout the summer months.

Cable Work:

• Cable operations will be on-going along Barnum Avenue. Pulling cable and splicing cable will take place during the night as much as possible. Some daytime and/or 24 hour work shifts will be necessary.

BRIDGEPORT

Construction:

• Duct-bank trenching along Ferry Access Road (night).
• Duct-bank trenching between Water Street and Stratford Avenue (night).
• Jack & Bore operation at the Transportation Center on Water Street (day).
• Preparations for final street and private area restoration are underway.
• Restoration will continue throughout the summer months.
• Barnum and Ridgefield Avenue – Fiber Optic Box Installation (night).

Cable Work:

• Cable operations will be on-going along Barnum Avenue. Pulling cable and splicing cable will occur during the night as much as possible. Some daytime and/or 24 hour work shifts will be necessary.
